The celebration of the XXth Symposium of the Spanish Society of
History of Psychology will take place in Cadaqués (Girona,
Spain) in the "Art i Joia" Hall, between 10
and 12 of May’2007, organized by the Autonomous University
of Barcelona.
Wednesday, May 9th will be the welcome act to the congressional
representatives with cultural activities, and Saturday, May 12
in the afternoon, when the scientific activity ends, there will
be a tour of the area, visiting different places with a cultural
and landscape interest.
Cadaqués, in the middle of Cap de Creus peninsula, looking
at the sea in a deep bay and surrounded by an extraordinary landscape
of gray slate and olive trees, has a singular beauty and personality.
Intellectuals and artists like Picasso or Salvador Dalí have
given international prestige to the town. That is the reason why
Cadaqués has become an important place for painters and
plastic artists of the western vanguard.
The popular architecture of the town is led by the church with
a gorgeous baroque altarpiece. The white colour of its houses sprinkled
with little marks in blue in its doors and windows, the annual
Festival of Music, the museums and the walks by the rustic and
wonderful landscape of Cap de Creus with the panoramic, are elements
that will make congressional representatives enjoy the town where
the popular culture and traditions remain with vitality.
If this information is not enough to consider attending our Symposium,
it will be the scientific activity that we offer to the congressional
representatives: Discussion tables and conferences will take place,
in addition to an agenda for the contributions of the congressional
representatives can make of this XXth SEHP Symposium an essential
place for those who are interested in our historical roots and
not only a congress for specialized historians. That is why the
organization opens some discussion tables for those people from
other areas of knowledge or other scientific disciplines, who have
studied the historical part of their interest areas in relation
to Psychology.
In addition, the organization of the Congress tries to offer to
our congressional representatives some playful-cultural activities
that allow combining the scientific activity with the leisure that,
accompanied by a splendid landscape, provides a pleasant stay to
all the assistants.
